Theme Funds (Pt 1)
Here is a listing of the current theme funds listed on The Hollywood Exchange along with analysis about how the funds are doing, and how each fund manager is doing.
***WARNING*** - This fund has been left for dead. The manager has stopped playing HSX. There has been no trade activity in the fund or in the manager's personal port since Thanksgiving 2010 (11/24/10).
Grade F This fund was started by a long term player and it was left for dead less than two month after IPO. Here it is being left for dead by a second manager.
Catzan used to be a top player and a top fund manager. Like me, he is constantly asked to take over funds that have been left for dead and help them delist.
Catzan has gotten busy in life this last year and has scaled back the amount of time he spends at HSX. This fund is setup for steady long term growth. You can tell that the manager only checks in every so often by the investments that have been made. The fund has barely taken advantage of the share increase to 75k and some of the investments look like they might be based on outdated news.
Grade C+ This fund is set up for steady growth but it has not turned a profit in the last five months (most likely due to lack of time invested causing the manager to miss news items). If/When Catzan were to return to playing HSX full time I am sure this fund would become an A+ investment.
Manager: Andrew Geller
This fund has been around for years and has been consistently well run by the same manager!
Grade A+ This is a well run fund and has a history of success.
This fund was started only six months ago and it is already near its target of $100!
Grade A+ karspov is easily considered one of the best HSX players of all time. He has a top 100 lifetime port, he has run a whole range of different funds in the past, and he is active on the HSX Boards.
***WARNING*** - This fund has been left for dead and the manager has quit playing HSX. There has been no trade activity in this fund since 11/4/10 and there has been no trade activity ever recorded for the fund manager (meaning he has not traded in his personal port in this version of HSX).
Grade F The fund manager has left the game and the fund is tanking.
Starbonds are very predictable and one of the easiest ways to make money at HSX. It makes sense that a fund dealing only with starbonds would be successful.
Grade A+ Since starbonds adjusts are so predictable there is no opportunity for this fund to lose money.
This is a fun fund! It always reminds me that alot of our favorite movie stars started their acting careers on TV Shows.
This is the fourth incarnation of this fund. It grows slowly but steadily. I am suprised to see certain stocks being missed by the fund (like JBRID who adjusts +18pts today - he started his career on TV).
Grade B The fund is slow but steady. It has reached its target three times before and come back for more.
The first incarnation of this fund had it easy because it had a tag team of Avatar and Alice In Wonderland to invest in.
This incarnation of the fund proves that 3D has been profitable and that the manager knows what he is doing.
Grade A The fund was IPOed seven months and is already near its target for delist.
