_Suspicion Of Call To Action
Suspicion Of Manipulation

armydude441

_armydude441 made a series of posts on league message boards urging players to invest in a particular stock.  This is known as a "call to action" and is against the rules at HSX.

armydude411 also made the same post on multiple boards which is considered "manipulation" and is against the rules at HSX.

Call To Action

A call to action is when one player tells another player what stocks they should invest in.  There is a difference between a call to action and giving advice and or stating an opinion:

"I would be careful investing in Ghost Rider 2; NCAGE movies have not been doing well lately" = giving advice

"I don't think Ghost Rider 2 is going to make its current price.  The last Ghost Rider did not do very well and I was not impressed by the trailers for this one." = stating an opinion

"Short Ghost Rider 2.  I saw it yesterday and it sucks!" = call to action (telling players what to invest)

Manipulation

Manipulation is when one player takes an action and/or actions to artificially make stock prices change at HSX.  There are many different ways to manipulate prices:

- posting false information

- reposting old news (so stock price moves once for first posting; then moves again for second posting)

- a player having multiple accounts in order to trade the same stock(s) causing the stock price(s) to change

- coordinating a group of players to trade the same stock(s) causing the stock price(s) to change.

The Crime

armydude441 posted this message:

The Trading House Of Ill Repute!
2012 competition

armydude441 did not post this message on the HSX Movie Board because he knew it was wrong and he would be punished.  Instead, he thought he could get away with it by posting on the league message boards.  HSX Community Watch is a "community" and thankfully a member of the community noticed the shady postings and reported them.
