AFRAM Fund Update #1 (2/23/12) 02/23/2012
AFRAM Fund Update #1 (2/23/12) AFRAM Fund Progress Would you like to know how the fund has been doing? The AFRAM Fund was IPOed on 2/14/12 at $20, and this is how the fund has been doing since then: Management Strategy Moviestocks There are many different strategies to choose from when managing a fund (or a HSX port). I have decided for right now to keep the fund small (in investments) and close to the vest. I picked seven stocks that qualified for the fund that I believed would be having some news soon or keep having a lack of news and invested in those. It is clean and easy to keep track of those few stocks. I was lucky and there was news about 'The Butler', that Oprah Winfrey was considering a return to acting and that she was thinking about doing this movie. I have been holding this long in the fund expecting more news to come soon. I was also lucky that there were some producer deals made and a writer hired for 'I Am Legend 2'. The stock has been moving up and down ever since. They have a writer, but that is only one piece of the puzzle before the movie moves ahead. I expect this stock will continue to keep going up and down until there is some more news reported. I have had a few technical problems with my internet service the last couple of days which has caused a dip in the fund. I believe the issues have all been resolved and we should start seeing the fund getting back on the right track growth wise. Starbonds To start the fund off right, I radar-ed shares of every starbond that qualifies for the fund (if I missed any please let me know). 'Red Tails' delisted last week and I was lucky to be able to invest in THOWA post adjust (he will be dropping 'Iron Man' [$250] for 'Movie 43' [$50?] in May). I invested in AMACK, who will be dropping 'The Adjustment Bureau' [$62] for 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter [$100+]" I invested in EMURP who will be adjusting in late March... dropping 'Shrek The Third' [$250] and adding 'A Thousand Words' [$40?] The fund is invested in MEALY, who will be adjusting in May, dropping 'Miracle At St Anna' [$8] and adding 'Think Like A Man' [$25+?] The fund has invested in VDAVI, who will be dropping 'Eat Pray Love' [$80] and adding 'Won't Back Down' [$20?] in October Derivatives The AFRAM Fund has invested in Viola Davis to win Best Actress for 'The Help' and Octavia Spencer to win Best Supporting Actress for 'The Help'. The fund has invested in 'The Help' to lose Best Picture to 'The Artist' Upcoming AFRAM Eligible Movies: In Release: Safe House (in release) [Denzel Washington] Rampart (in limited release) [Ice Cube] This Means War (in release) [Angela Bassett] Upcoming: Good Deeds (2/24/12) [Tyler Perry; Gabrielle Union; Thandie Newton] 21 Jumpstreet (3/16/12) [Ice Cube] Dark Tide (3/30/12 ~ limited) [Halle Berry] Summary - Week 1 The fund was set up and IPOed. The fund was set up good and made $4mill in the first week, but a few technical glitches caused the fund to drop a little at the end of the trading week. $3.3 mill is still a very respectable amount of profit for a fund to make in a week.
